Welcome to Excel Jet Consult blog post. In this video, we are going to learn how to analyze PowerBI Dataset in Excel for the Web. Let’s get started

The screenshot below shows a dynamic report created in the PowerBI Desktop and published to the PowerBI Service.
We want to access the underlying dataset that contains the fact table, dimension tables and the explicit DAX measures created to build a PivotTable Report in the Excel for the Web. To access the PowerBI Dataset:
- Click on My Workspace
- Click on the horizontal ellipsis under the Type and select Analyze in Excel
We are going to the see, “Your Excel File is ready” at the top right hand corner of the screen as seen in the screenshot below
- Click on Open in Excel for the Web button
By now, the Excel Workbook on the Web will be opened and we should see the PivotTable placeholder to the left and the PivotTable Fields to the right of the screen
To build our PivotTable report:
- Drag and drop Account Manager under the dimAcctManager field into the Rows area.
- Drag and drop the Total Sales, Total Units, No of Transaction and the % of GT DAX measures into the Values area.
