Office 365: Enabling Office Scripts

Welcome to Excel Jet Consult blog post. In this tutorial, we want to see how to enable Office Scripts in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. Office Scripts allows users to automate repetitive tasks and it is currently in preview for Excel on the Web. If you’re working in an organization, you may have to contact the IT department to perform the activation since they have access to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. Conversely, if you own the tenant, you can activate the new feature by following the steps below

  • Click on first Setting and the second Settings
  • In the Services tab, scroll down and locate Office Scripts.

  • Click on Office Scripts
  • In the display to the right of the screen, check Let users automate their tasks in Office on the web box

  • Click on Save

Access Excel on the Web

You will see the Automate tab which houses the Office Scripts Recorder and Code Editor

In the days ahead, I will release more tutorials on how to automate tasks using the Office Scripts. Stay tuned
