Welcome to Excel Jet blog post. In this post, we want to learn how to extract data from Text File to Power BI. Let’s get started.
We want to extract the African Countries and their population as at 2019 from the text file as seen in the caption below
In the Power BI Desktop, click on Text/CSV from the Get Data drop-down
Select the Text file to import
Click Open
In the next dialogue box, we can see that the delimiter is tab which is fine
Since we don’t have any transformation to make to the data, we proceed to click on Load
In the caption below, we see that the data is loaded into the data model and we created a quick Focused Map
